The reason why Macbeth would go on with his murderous plans despite the fact that he was aware of the consequences was because he was more interested on being a force to reckon with.

He believed that the answer and the way to take care of the problems that he was having was through the use of manslaughter and murder.

He allowed the desire to be evil to override his good judgment on morality. He ended up killing Duncan.
