The cornea, the aqueous humor, the lens, the vitreous humor, the ganglion cell layer, the inner plexiform layer, the inner nuclear layer, and the outer plexiform layer are the eight eye structures through which light travels before contacting the photoreceptors.
It passes via the pupil, which is encircled by the colorful iris, which regulates the quantity of light that enters the eye. The light was then refracted further after passing through the lens and  to get to the retina, it passes through the vitreous fluid.
Through the iris's central pupil, light enters the eye through the cornea's translucent layer. The lens changes its focus to direct the light onto the retina, where it appears reversed and upside-down.
