A voltage drop test is being performed on the output wire of the alternator to the battery positive post. Technician A says that the voltage drop should be more than 0.5 volts. Technician B says that during the voltage drop test, the engine should be at the specified rpm and the battery loaded down so the alternator puts out maximum current flow. Who is correct
To check for voltage drop on the ground side of the starter circuit, connect the black meter lead to the negative battery post and the red meter lead to the starter motor case while the engine cranks.
