12x - 2(y-1) = 10
Distribute the -2
12x - 2y + 2 = 10
Subtract 2 from 10
12x - 2y = 8
Move 12 to the other side
-2y = -12x + 8
Divide by -2
y = 6x + 4 is your final answer.
