There are three different shapes (right triangle, rectangle, and half-circle). To find the area of the whole you find the area of all of these things then add them.
Triangle: (axb/2)
The first thing we must do is determine the lengths of the triangle.

b: To find be we take 10-2 because the 2 is what is used for the rectangle making the 8 what is left over for our side b
(axb)/2 = (4x8)/2 = 32/2 = 16 m^2
Rectangle: (lxw)
The first thing we will do is confirm the length and width of the rectangle
l: The diameter is the length of the rectangle l=4
w: Because the top portion of the area meets at the point where the triangle and rectangle converge the width is 2
lxw = 4x2 = 8 m^2
Half-Circle: {(pi/2)(r)^2
r: The only variable we need is the radius which is just half of the diameter. Therefore r=2
