Redlining occurs when your address determines the eligibility for governmental services like school. Because your address determines where you’re put in school, lower income areas with minorities become minority majority, and then higher income areas (primarily white) may be placed in the same neighboring neighborhood, but because they are sectioned off and redlined they receive higher funding, segregating schools.
