If four times a number, added to 3 is divided by the number plus 6, the result is seven halves. Find the number.

#=11/4
(4x+3)/4=7/2 
so to simplify it we multiply by 4 on both sides 
4x+3=14 
now we solve for x 
4x=11 
x=11/4
