Galactosemia is an inherited genetic condition. Children with this condition cannot break down the sugar galactose, which is part of lactose. Based on the pedigree chart, is this condition a dominant or a recessive disorder? Explain your reasoning.
It’s definitely not genetic based on the chart, if there was a more in depth family tree of those affected it could still be genetic, if not, it then becomes a disorder from a malfunction in the child’s DNA
Both parents are heterozygous for the trait but they do not exhibit the disease themselves if it were a dominant gene both parents would have the disease if they carried the gene for it.
