The process of diffusion and active transport are both used to move molecules from high to low concentration

The process of diffusion and active transport are both used to

  • Move Particles across different areas of concentration ( i.e. lower to higher or higher to lower )

Diffusion ( passive transport ) is the movement of particles/substance from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration while active transport moves particles against concentration gradients ( i.e. from lower to higher concentrations ). An example of an active transport system is the sodium-potassium pump.

Hence we can conclude that the process of diffusion and active transport are both used to move particles across different areas of concentration.
