Can someone please explain this to me? I'm not understanding it whatsoever. This the question:
An object is said to be in free-fall when it is falling with no air resistance acting on the object. The model for the distance an object fall in t seconds is given by the equation d=4.9t2. the distance d is given in meters.
Question:

If the object is falling for 3 seconds, predict the distance the object falls. If a small amount of air resistance is present, predict what this would do to the distance the object falls.

Answer:

29.4 would be the distance that it fell. (I'm Presuming the equation that you wrote means 4.9 * t * 2)

If air resistance was applied it would mean that the object will slow down. This is because it effects the motion of the object.

However eventually IF the air resistance gets large enough it balences the force of gravity. At this time the object will stop accelerating
