Variable Y: 63 100 88 30 36 17 47 72 52

A. Negative linear association

B. Negative non linear association

C. Positive linear association

Respuesta :

Taking the slope about different points, we have
[tex] m_{1} = \frac{ y_{2}- y_{1} }{x_{2}- x_{1}} = \frac{100-63}{18-12} = \frac{37}{6} =6 \frac{1}{6} \\ m_{2} = \frac{ y_{2}- y_{1} }{x_{2}- x_{1}} = \frac{30-88}{8-16} = \frac{-58}{-8} =7 \frac{1}{4} [/tex]
The slopes are positive but are not equal, which means that that the association is positive non linear association.
