In order to solve for x, we must isolate it on one side of the inequality.

2x + 4 ≥ 24

The first step we will take is subtract 4 from both sides, since it is being added on the side with the variable.

2x + 4 ≥ 24
     - 4    - 4

And the inequality now is 

2x ≥ 20

Now, all we have to do is divide both sides by 2, since the variable is being multiplied by 2.

2x ≥ 20
 /2     /2

And the final inequality is

x ≥ 10
