Look at the picture.

[tex]\angle B\cong\anlge C\to m\angle B=m\angle C=47^o[/tex]

We know, the sum of the measures of the triangle is equal 180°.

Therefore in ΔBCD we have:

[tex]y+47+90=180[/tex]

[tex]y+137=180[/tex]             subtract 137 from both sides

[tex]y=43[/tex]

Answer: x° = 90°, y° = 43°.
